Conventional and Alternative Assessment Types

This course starts with conventional evaluation methods, which should be familiar grounds. Conventional evaluations have been around for a long time and are very helpful; however, some conventional evaluations in many fields have trouble properly measuring student results. This course will enable you to recognize the most efficient conventional evaluations and to explore the creation of well-formed evaluation questions. You will explore alternative tests focused on “products” in addition to conventional evaluations. Such products would include papers and other activities that evaluate the success of a student during a course.

Once you are familiar with the features of a well-constructed evaluation question, you can learn how to spot those that are not so well made! You will have the ability to adapt the material to your own course at the end of each lesson.
